Okay, part deux. This is a follow-up to Estranged. I purposefully tried to keep the style similar and tied it in with the poetry.
The poem is by Damien Echols of the West Memphis Three [link]. It's entitled Soft Shadow, hence the title of this piece. The original will be traveling to San Francisco [with Estranged] in May to be auctioned off at the Skeleton Key art exhibit, where all proceeds will benefit the Damien Echols defense fund. If you're interested in donating to this fund, please check out the Art for Freedom link below and keep in mind that this print is non-profit. All money made off of this work will be going to Damien directly.
The poem goes as follows:
I watched as
the closet door
slid open,
slowly,
and out crept
a spindly man-thing
to dance in silent circles
next to my bed.
This is Aaron, by the way. Yes, he's a boy and yes, we all know he's gorgeous... so if you could please spare me the 'omfg he's hawt' comments I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm tired of replying to those with a curt 'thanks'. Even typing a six-letter word takes up time when you have to type it a million friggin' times.
And a million thanks to Tessa for thinking of me when she took this photo. I am, in fact, your number one fan. [link]
Charcoal on 90lb. paper
14" x 20"

Its not that I want to kill Paris Hilton, I just don't want her living anymore.
Marvellous as usual! He looks quite feral just like in the poem. 90lb is quite smooth paper isn't it? Do you use charcoal sticks pencils or a mix of the two? (I wonder if I have asked this before, I have a memory like a sieve.)
This is a great picture, the eyes really draw you in, and put it together with the poem and it is a thought provoking piece, and the whole thing is incredibly sexy

wow! That is a gorgeous face! The body doesn't contrast as well as the face does (like the hand on the left to us, right to him). But wow. That face just stands out. You don't even need to concentrate so much on the body because it's just so damn gorgeous (yeh, still on the face) I love this style you've been using by the way. Cery soft yet contrasted at the same time <3
(and i'm looking for the original. Can't find it xD Nyah oh wells)

Would I die for you?
Well here's your answer in spades
And all I know is revenge is sweet when...
You know that you are worthless
Your drawing looks so realistic
You did a marvelous job with the shadows, the expression, and the angle
A job more than well done!

Especially the eyes.
And this one is not an exception. Truly beautiful.
