Firstly, I have a feeling that I'm going to be getting a lot of 'omfg I thought it was a photo' comments on this particular piece, so let me just say here, in the description, both thank you and that yes, it is in fact a drawing. ...you know, just to clear things up. And no... other than the border, title, and a few curve adjustments, I didn't use photoshop.

Anyway! Apparition. I drew most of this while listening to NIN's With Teeth album, which is appropriate on two counts, I guess: 1. kinda looks like a young Reznor to me, or maybe something you'd see in one of those friggin' amazing NIN videos (god, how can those videos be so cool, huh?) and 2. I'm seeing NIN in concert tonight. Yes, you're allowed to be jealous. ;P

The title gave me some issues. First I wanted to reference NIN, then I wanted to go with HIM, then Placebo... and finally I was like 'rah! Nothing works!' as I loaded a bunch of Patrick Wolf songs onto Winamp. By the way, if you don't know who Patrick Wolf is... he's just goddamn awesome, so go check him out for the genius twenty-something-year-old that he is. We can all only wish to be as brilliant as he is. (Uh, where was I going with this?) Oh yeah... Apparition. It's the title of an instrumental Patrick Wolf piece. Like that really matters...

Last but not least, this is a belated birthday HOO-rah going out to my friend *rache-engel, whom is also the model here. Happy birthday, you! :glomp:

the eyes and the hair are brilliant, i find the hand somewhat confusing though, but overall it's very influential and expressive and specail and....impressive...and i dunno.....you certainly did a good job :) anda i don't know this wolf guy but i'd certainly check him out :)
